Teenaa koutou and welcome to the Kirihimete-Christmas 2023 edition of the Waikato Regional Theatre Construction Update.

Though really, this is the Kohitātea-January 2024 issue delivered slightly early, as the next one will be sent out in the first week of February.

The Fosters Construction team have finished off the year strong, with tremendous progress made on site. The crew will be back on site from 8 January 2024, refreshed and ready for another big year.  

 

Progress on site

Highlights from December 2023.

Key activities last month include the following.

  • Laying of the ComFlor (steel deck) across Level 1.

  • Concrete pour to the ComFlor at Level 2 of the heritage building.

  • Completion of foundation rafts.

  • Installation of insulation.

  • Erection of more shear walls.

 

Significant events coming up

The following progress is expected to occur in January 2024.

  • Reinforcing the newly laid ComFlor in readiness for concrete pours.

  • Installation of more of the ComFlor.

  • Erection of structural steel.

Overall Programme

The WRT's construction programme will be reviewed in the New Year and an update issued in due course.
