Teenaa koutou and welcome to the Whiringa aa rangi-November 2023 edition of the Waikato Regional Theatre Construction Update.

Progress on site

Highlights from October 2023.

Work on site is progressing at pace and you’ll be starting to see the foundations rise out of the ground while standing on Victoria Street. The theatre is really starting to take shape.

  • Key activities last month include the following.

  • Erection of the first of the vertical structural steel posts, which you might be able to see from Victoria Street.

  • Laying of the ComFlor in the theatre basement areas.

  • Installation of the first pre-cast stairs.

  • Completion of the concrete floor at the very lowest level.

  • Erection of more shearwalls.

  • Pouring of the floor at street level, behind the heritage façade.

Significant events coming up

The following progress is expected to occur in November.

  • Reinforcing and pouring of the next ComFlor level.

  • Erection of more structural steel.

  • Continuation of design and shop drawings.
