Progress on site

Highlights from the last month.

  • Removal of the bamboo and banana trees blocking the view to the river.

  • Completion of the L3 shear walls in main auditorium.

  • Commencing installation of the timber to the structural steel of the blade walls (circled below).

  • Commencing installation of the structural steel which will support the ‘fly tower’ above the stage, which is where scenery and stage fronts are hung so they can be ‘flown in and out’ during a show.

  • Erection of internal frames and partitions – these will eventually form the internal walls.

  • Continuation of installation of services across the site.

Significant events coming up

The following progress is expected to occur in the next month.

  • Continuation of steel installation across the site – both structural and secondary.

  • Continuation of services installation.

  • Progression of the blade wall forms.

The Waikato Regional Theatre site in early June.

The WRT’s construction programme has been updated as follows.
