Teenaa koutou and welcome to Waikato Regional Theatre Construction Update for November 2022.
Onsite works continue to move along well - the last month has seen great progress with the earthworks, with the majority of the excavation being completed and the final stage underway.
All the necessary supports for the Hamilton Hotel’s heritage façade are in place and the demolition of the structures not being retained is complete.
Recent drone photos taken by Cameron Neilson of Fosters provide a great aerial image of the progress onsite.

Progress on site
Highlights from October 2022.
The completion of:
the retention piling, and removal of associated plant and equipment
installation of final heritage façade retention steelwork and gravity supports
final demolition activities, including residual asbestos removal
bulk of excavation – stage 1
establishment of a slip lane on Victoria St, by relocating hoardings.
The continuation of:
tower crane foundations
retaining structures for new transformer on Sapper Moore-Jones Place
excavation activity - stage 2.
Significant events in the next month
The following is expected to occur in November:
tower crane to be erected on site
further site excavations
beginning of shear wall construction
completion of the transformer platform and further works in Sapper Moore-Jones Place.

Foundations October 2022 – January 2023
Structure November 2022 – March 2023
Envelope January – April 2023
Fit-out March 2023 – May 2024
Completion June 2024.
