Teenaa koutou and welcome to the Poutuu-te-rangi/March 2023 edition of the Waikato Regional Theatre Construction Update.

In the past month the Theatre site has withstood an earthquake and a cyclone and is still standing strong - here’s hoping for a less-eventful March!

Progress on site

Highlights from February 2023.

The completion of:

  • installation of the transformer on Sapper Moore-Jones Place

  • ground improvements below the heritage façade and its preparation for structural steel connections

  • various Stage 1 shop drawings.

The commencement or continuation of:

  • façade column strengthening works

  • pouring of the foundation raft slabs

  • excavation activities.

     

Significant events coming up

The following progress is expected to occur in March:

  • completion of the excavation

  • erection of structural steel

  • significant progress on the foundation raft slabs.

     

Overall Programme

Completion of the building is now set for the fourth quarter of 2024.  

The project’s construction timeline is otherwise currently under review and a new Programme will be issue in due course.
