Teenaa koutou and welcome to the Paengawhaawhaa-April 2024 edition of the Waikato Regional Theatre Construction Update.

The shorter, colder days are definitely here, but that hasn’t prevented the team from making great progress on site. 

 

Progress on site

Highlights from the last month.

  • Laying and pouring of the composite flooring (ComFlor) across Level 2 in the commercial space.

  • Finished pouring the walls around the stage area.

  • Installation of the roof trusses across the heritage building.

  • Continued installation of the structural steel across the site.

  • Clearing of greenery around the upper part of the old staircase down to the riverbank.

     

Significant events coming up

The following progress is expected to occur in the next month.

  • Reinforcing and pouring floors in the Theatre.

  • Progression of the structural steel installation across the site.

  • Progression of drainage installation across the site.

  • Ground testing in the riverbank area.
