Teenaa koutou and welcome to the Whiringa aa nuku-October 2023 edition of the Waikato Regional Theatre Construction Update.
Progress on site
Highlights from September 2023.
Site works are going well, despite the changeable spring weather we’ve been having. As mentioned in previous updates, the substantial size of the project means that activities being undertaken across this period will appear to be similar to previous and future updates. These include the following.
Completion of site excavations.
Placing of some key plant (such as silencers) in situ.
Erection of structural steel.
Concrete pours on the raft slabs (foundations) and shear walls of the Theatre.
Installation of plumbing and drainage at street level in readiness for floor pouring.
Design and planning work, such as the development of shop drawings.
Significant events coming up
The following progress is expected to occur in October.
Near completion of the basement-level raft slab concrete pours.
Erection of shear walls.
Pouring of the floor (concrete) at street level.
Erection of structural steel.
Backfill activities.
The Theatre site at the end of August.
